TCFL 17 All-Stars // Episode 10 Recap

Hello TCFL! I know that a lot of people, including TCFL members, are starting to venture out and take some trips to get a change of scenery. The Commish Family is no different. While some of you are at beach houses or cabins, I'm here writing for you from... my in-laws! (Insert jokes here). Kidding aside, it's nice to be in some wide open spaces (with a pool) away from DC. Hopefully you all are finding your own forms of respite as we approach the summer.

Thankfully there has been a lot of news this week about sports coming back. Otherwise this would have been a very depressing episode (I LOVE the Olympics). Let's get to it:
  • Padma's hair was fabulous for this Quickfire.
  • This Quickfire is a classic -- and one of my favorites. It wouldn't be a season of Top Chef without the Mise-en-Place Relay and Blindfold Taste Test.
  • Karen... eight correct answers? Malarkey... seven? I feel like I can get at least seven myself.
  • I feel like I bring up Chef's Table a lot, but it really is like required reading / pairs perfectly (PUN INTENDED) with Top Chef. If you haven't already, check out Niki Nakayama's episode:
  • It was very unsurprising that Melissa was kind and assigned courses based on what people wanted to do. I kind of wish that Malarkey had earned the right, just to hear his reasoning for assigning courses to his competitors.
  • If Malarkey calling Bryan "Michael" wasn't an accident, it was a pretty brutal burn.
  • I don't understand the point of showing Karen rack all of the weights in the Top Chef mansion, then show her clearly deadlifting 135 lbs.
  • Tom has dined at the "Moms and Tom" table two weeks ago... then with Kerri Walsh and Nastia Liukin (still hot) this week. What's gonna happen this week?
  • For all my volleyball-heads out there... I still haven't forgiven Kerri for basically forgetting how to pass in the semifinals in Rio.
  • Hearing Mike Tirico's voice automatically puts more gravitas on any situation.
  • They better still send Stephanie to the Olympics (whenever it is that it does happen).
  • Confession: I... LIKE... MALARKEY! He better not quit!

With one episode left before they leave for Europe, we truly are in the home stretch now. If you aren't a normal watcher of LCK but want more content, check it out this week. They crown a winner, and time-wise, it's basically a whole additional episode. If you don't want to get spoiled as to who comes out of LCK, don't check out the Scoreboard (yet).

Until then... have a great week everyone!

  1. Kerri was still the Olympian with the most medals there! Loved the female heavy representation and mini spotlight on my favorite fencer (Ibtihaj Muhammad)!
